The Deception skill is used when a character lies, misleads, or hides the truth whether verbally or otherwise. The most commonly used ability score is Charisma. Examples include the following activities:
This Ability Check may be made against a DC set by the DM or may be opposed by a target’s Insight Test.

A character might find their Ability Check further modified in the following ways:
If the victim wishes to believe the lie as it is convenient or beautiful, the test might be made with Advantage.
If the victim already trusts the liar implicitly, the test should be made with Advantage.
If the victim stands to lose greatly from the lie, the test might be made with Disadvantage.
If the victim already has good reason to distrust the liar, the test might be made with Disadvantage.
If the lie is so incredibly far fetched that the victim would be a fool to believe, the test should be made with Disadvantage.
