Harkening back to 3rd Edition and Pathfinder, with this style of attunement, rather than limiting a creature to three magic item attunement slots for their entire adventuring career, this variant rule grants characters a number of slots on their person in which they can wear magic items and gain their benefits. The Magic Item Attunment Slots are as follows:
You may only attune to one type of magic item for any given slot at a time (so only a single head slot item, etc).
Naturally, this variant rule has the possibility of making an adventurer extremely over powered if able to obtain enough magical items to fill all of these slots, but it does open up the possibility of running dramatically more difficult combat encounters as characters will likely be capable of swinging well above their normal weight class.
