Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse
“Here and gone. Fey puns are a menace!”
— Mordenkainen
Harengons originated in the Feywild, where they spoke Sylvan and embodied the spirit of freedom and travel. In time, these rabbitfolk hopped into other worlds, bringing the fey realm’s exuberance with them and learning new languages as they went.
Harengons are bipedal, with the characteristic long feet of the rabbits they resemble and fur in a variety of colors. They share the keen senses and powerful legs of leporine creatures and are full of energy, like a wound-up spring. Harengons are blessed with a little fey luck, and they often find themselves a few fortunate feet away from dangers during adventures.
Harengons are free-spirited travelers, and have spread far and wide across the many worlds of the Material Plane from their native Feywild. Rarely staying in one place for long, wanderlust has a tendency to overcome them, and it is common to find them suddenly taking to the open trail, carrying their meager belongings on their back and traveling by foot.
A harengon's world view and even personality are shaped by the company they keep. Those who travel with heroes become brave and ambitious, while those who travel with brigands became mean and antagonistic, and those who travel alone while leaving new friends in their wake became freedom-loving and peaceful. Harengons who turn to banditry often travel in small groups, preferring to ambush or extort traveling parties with fewer members than their own, quickly fleeing when a fight turns against them.
Harengons are bipedal rabbit-like creatures with the extended feet and prolonged ears. They have a variety of fur colorations. Harengons have keen senses and powerful legs. The harengons' main characteristic is their energized personalities and tightly wound up musculature ready to spring into action at any given moment
